On 5 June, leaders gathered at PrideInn Azure to launch Stitch In Time and 5M Unbreakable. An evening of African thought leadership. Here is a look back, and a way forward.

To everyone who joined us in the room: thank you. You turned a book launch into a working conversation and workshop about the institutions we are building across the continent, and the people holding them up from the inside. Two books moved from the page into your hands, and the dialogue that started over dinner continues all over Africa.

The Evening
The launch was built around the same architecture that runs through both books: aspiration at the front door, reality in the inner room, repair in the back room. Here is how the night moved.
01 · The Keynote
The evening opened with the framing that anchors Stitch In Time: organizations rarely fail all at once. They fracture gradually, and the work is to catch the fracture early, with dignity and precision. A full room of directors, founders, and operators leaned in.
02 · The Panel
A facilitated panel took the frameworks off the page and into lived experience: where African institutions tend to crack, what the early warning signs look like, and how leaders can govern the work of prevention as a permanent discipline rather than a crisis response.
03 · Immersive Learning
Guests stepped through the Three Rooms experience in person: the Front Door of aspiration, the Inner Room of reality, and the Back Room of repair. At the Career MOAT wall, attendees wrote in the one capability, habit, or relationship that makes a professional irreplaceable, building the frameworks with their own hands.
04 · Signed Copies & Dinner
Over dinner, copies of both volumes were signed by I.S.Matthew, and conversations carried on between guests. A launch is a beginning, not an ending, and the network that formed is the durable thing we set out to build across the continent of Africa.
