5M Keystone

A management development programme in three levels for East African organisations, taking managers from their first team to the executive and board seat.

Each level works through the five governance domains of Stitch In Time. Participants practise on real work inside their own organisation, and every level ends with an assessment the employer can rely on.

The five governance domains

Every level follows the same five domains from Stitch In Time, and the questions deepen as the participant's responsibility grows.

DomainThe question for leaders
Core LoadWhich people and systems does current performance depend on, and how hard are they running?
Talent FlowAre we building our own bench, or training good people for somebody else?
Everyday WorkWhat share of this week's work was genuinely connected to what we exist to produce?
Signals and RiskDoes what reaches the decision-makers match what is happening where the work is done?
Power and MandateWho really decides what here, and who can stop a decision that should not go ahead?

How the programme works

  • Real work, measured. Each participant works on a live problem in their own team or unit, against a measure agreed with their superior at enrolment.
  • Spaced sessions. Sessions are a month apart so that what is learned is applied on the job before the next one begins.
  • Peer accountability. Every session opens with each participant reporting to their peers on what they executed since the last one.
  • Assessment that means something. Each level has a published pass mark, and a participant who falls short receives a private, written account of what was missing.
  • Reports for the employer. The sponsoring organisation receives a report on every participant and a cohort report on patterns seen across its managers.

Two ways to enrol

Private enrolment

Your organisation enrols its own managers as a bespoke cohort, in person or live online, with case studies and assignments fitted to your sector. Register the managers, their work focus and the measure each improvement will be stated in.

Register a cohort

Open enrolment

One to three managers join a scheduled cohort alongside managers from other employers. This suits smaller teams, and the cohort follows a published timetable.
